Think that anyone who starts his or her own business is an entrepreneur? Think again.

1 Thought - An Entrepreneurial seizure?

You don't need to be a founder, an entrepreneur, a merchant, or a CXO at a large international enterprise to gain financial freedom.

I know many from the list above who are broke or suffering from work/life balance problems. and are not happy.

This decision needs to come from the inside, it needs to come from your values.

These values are the DNA that tells you what is really important to you and are the basis of the decisions you make every day.

If you ignore them and just follow external environmental factors, you are doomed to fail even if you succeed.

There is another trap, values are two types, positive and negative, you need to inspect your values, and transform them from negative to positive ones.

For example, Honesty is a positive value, and being popular is a negative value.

Positive values are easy to define, know and control. you are truthful or you lie, even your enemies can attest to that.

On the contrary, Negative values are difficult to define, and while you can control yourself to say the truth, being popular can not be controlled or easily defined.

Being tall, white, having six-packs, charismatic ... etc are all negative values that are not possible to control.

While being honest, generous, content, transparent, and helpful, learning, and creative are all positive values that you can control and are what really matters.

Negative values compete with positive values, you may lie to maintain your popularity or increase it. You may lose your confidence because you are not tall or you are not rich.

Positive values should be strengthened, negative values should be discounted, and their value should go down to zero.

Becoming a founder to solve societal problems and help the community is different than becoming one because you want to become attractive and of high status in society.

The paradox is that if you become a founder because you want to help the society and solve community problems you will end up becoming popular and of high status, however, that is one of the results and not the intent or the end by itself.

Ego is the enemy, seek where your values and purpose intersect, build a vision to realize that, and formulate a mission to serve it.

Your values are influenced by your personality, upbringing, and environment and are helped by the knowledge, experience, and expertise you have.

There are many personality and values assessments that help you discover that.

So, If you earn a decent salary and you properly save towards financial freedom then you are way better than entrepreneurs, founders, CXOs, merchants, and traders who are not in touch with their positive values.

And remember, The Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side.
