In previous issues, we spoke about the 12 end-to-end processes and business flows.

We also spoke about objectives and key results, what google and app sumo did with them.

To link both topics, OKRs are part of the second system out of the 12 that is called "strategy to execution".

This system has a prerequisite, which is the "Vision to strategy" system.

The article above from HBR explains that in detail, from the link with biology, genotype and phenotype to examples on how this works and saves your company during recession with examples of HP and IBM during the 90s.

And the Pokémon Go story that exemplifies DNA.

In this issue, I'm going to highlight the components of company DNA and how these correlate in the diagram below.

Most sources indicate that company DNA includes Vision, mission and strategy.

I beg to differ, strategy changes annually or even 3-5 years, DNA does not.

Your DNA gets inherited across generations, that applies to vision and mission, not strategy though.
