I hope this newsletter finds you well. This week, take a break from the usual business insights and enjoy a firsthand account of being on the other side and getting my haircut.

From Coach to Client: From the Same Team that coached Naval, Sam Altman, and Alfred Lin.

Recently, I had the privilege of starting my coaching sessions with the Mochary Method Company, a business coaching company that trains the best unicorn founders.

I want to share my personal experience and takeaways from these life-changing sessions with you as we go.

The Mochary Method is not a typical coaching program. It's run by expert business coaches, not salespeople with scripts, and designed to bring about a transformational experience.

The platform

We start with technology: the Mochary software platform is the main platform that embodies the method. The sessions are conducted via Zoom for remote coaching, with the integration of fireflies.ai to automate note-taking, allowing both parties to focus on the conversation.

The opening

The sessions start by building a personal connection with the coach. Simple questions such as "What's on your mind?" or "What keeps you up at night?" set the tone for the rest of the sessions. By focusing on personal topics, the coach builds a relationship with the client, making it easier to discuss more sensitive or complex business issues.

One of the most impactful experiences during my coaching sessions was the use of storytelling. My coach, Alexis d'Amecourt, who coached OpenSea and Sequoia, used his own experiences to illustrate important concepts and ideas. This not only made the lessons more memorable but also made the coaching feel more personal and relatable.

Another valuable tool part of the Mochary Method that we discussed is the absolute feedback tool, which you can learn more about in this thread:

This approach helped me uncover gaps in my skills, and I'm now working to improve them with my clients and team.

I'm looking forward to my next session with Alexis and the opportunity to continue my journey towards becoming a better founder, CEO and business coach.

If you're looking to improve your business skills as a founder or CEO, I highly recommend the Mochary Method.

I'll keep sharing my insights as we go.
